Durham is home to Duke University and North Carolina Central University, but there is much more to the community. Before you call your Durham movers, you should look into the neighborhoods that are best for singles. Here are three worth considering.

Old West Durham

This is a Bohemian community near the East campus of Duke University near the funky, artsy local stores on 9th Street. This former mill neighborhood is known for its concentration of artists and plenty of different cultures. You’ll find bike lanes for easy transportation. You’ll also find a strong neighborhood association with a website that keeps everyone together and informed.

Downtown Durham

Living in Downtown Durham, you will be close to the American Tobacco Campus, which is a prime source for dining and entertainment. There are movies and music on the lawn, stellar shopping, and a variety of restaurants. You are close to the Carolina Theater and the Durham Bulls. There is growth happening in downtown Durham with apartment complexes going up all over.

Woodlake

Woodlake is located in southwest Durham. It has over 100 town homes perfect for singles. It is known for valuing diversity, volunteerism and nature. This will be a different life than living downtown. There are paved walking trails, a dog park, soccer and softball fields. The neighborhood association puts on social activities so you can get to know your neighbors quickly.

No matter which neighborhood you choose, you’ll find Durham to be a great place to live. Once your Durham movers are finished unloading the truck, you can get acquainted with what makes your particular neighborhood unique. If you use picture, please include:
